After The Storm

This painting is an abstract vision of a rainbow over the ocean after a storm. It is built from a mosaic of 2cm s 2cm coloured blocks, where nothing is defined, instead, the scene is suggested through atmosphere and light.
Across the upper centre, a vivid vertical band of rainbow colours - blue, green, yellow, orange, red and violet - cuts downward like a glowing stripe, standing out against the cooler surroundings. The lower portion is a colour shift to cooler greys, turquoise, and green, depicting the ocean settling after the storm. 
The overall effect is fragmented but balanced with warm and cool tones interacting in a way to create energy. I wanted it to feel atmospheric, like a scene seen through frosted glass.
This painting is signed on the bottom, left side of the frame and a certificate of authenticity is supplied.
This artwork is painted on the edges, so no frame is required.
