This painting is on gessoed board and comes unframed.
The inspiration for this painting was the reflections in the black vases of the objects around them; purple velvet curtains and yellow lemons. I am playing with the historic symbolism of fruit in Still Life paintings. The lemons are round and curvy and placed on a pedestal and are adored by the placement of the vase below. The velvet curtains are an arrangement of gentle folds.
I deliberately arranged this Still Life, but really, i was studying the colours of the black vases and teaching myself tonal values.
This painting is on primed board and finished with a protective varnish. It will need to be framed by you.
