I created Where the Circles Began as a contemporary response to the Australian landscape and its unique light, inspired by the landscapes that have shaped Australian art.
Using warm earth tones and layered forms, I reimagined the landscape through my own artistic voice, where the hills, radiant sun and concentric circles come together in a sense of connection.
The circles suggest continuity, energy and the enduring rhythms of nature, while the sun becomes a symbol of light, life and connection.
For me, this painting is about the emotional and spiritual connection between humanity and the landscape.
