Wetlands Sanctuary

Wetlands - The Sanctuary is my interpretation of those quiet, in-between spaces in nature where sky and earth seem to meet. I wanted to capture the calm beauty of the wetlands through layers of soft olive greens, earthy browns, and gentle blue-grays that suggest reeds, shallow water, and the shifting play of light across the surface. My small marks and gestures of pink, pale blue, and black bring a sense of life and rhythm to the piece with hints of birds, insects, and rippling reflections moving gently through the landscape.
For me, this work is about evoking a feeling rather than depicting a scene. I wanted to express the stillness, renewal, and quiet energy that the wetlands hold. Through restrained colours and delicate mark-making, I aimed to create a poetic sense of space, one that feels peaceful and deeply connected to the land. The Wetlands is my way of celebrating the subtle moods of nature and the calm it brings.
The canvas is an original piece and comes with d rings and wire ready to hang. The piece is UNFRAMED. Sides are painted in a crisp white to set off the artwork. The work is created in acrylic paint. All work has been sealed and varnished for protection
