Kaitiaki Guardian Series - Stone Memory

Kaitiaki of Stone Memory emerges from the idea that stone can hold a memory of place, enduring long after the people, structures and moments surrounding it have changed.

Through digital transformation of a photograph from our property, layered textures unfold into a symmetrical guardian form. Flowing green structures rise like wings around a central blue form, while concentric circles create a sense of resonance or energy radiating outward.

The central form feels ancient and almost ceremonial, something rooted in the earth yet reaching upward. It suggests a marker, a fragment of landscape, or perhaps something that has been waiting quietly beneath the surface.

Stone carries a particular kind of memory. It does not remember in the way we do. It simply remains, weathered by rain, shaped by movement, exposed to generations of change. Places change around it, but the stone endures.
