This is one of five mixed media pieces evoking the sense of time held within the landscape. The dominant form suggested the title. It resembles an ancient burial mound, a tumulus.
The work is a composite of fragments and glimpses. They play against each other to hint at hidden meanings and forgotten stories. It invites you into an ancient space to create your own narrative.
I used collage, gouache, watercolour and ink to develop this image, reinforcing the idea of different parts forming a whole.
The piece is ready to frame behind glass with foam core backing, archival matboard and non-acidic tape. (Dimensions provided are of the visible image. With the mat, the piece is 33 cm high and 25.5 cm wide. The mat for this piece is a light cream.)
