Pelicans at Sunset on the Mighty Murray

This is an original painting of a pink sunset reflected on the calm waters of the Murray River. The river banks rise above the water and the maroon shadows of the trees create beautiful reflections on the water. A few fallen branches and driftwood jut out of the water in the foreground and three pelicans swim towards you. 

I painted this while on a houseboat cruise of the Murray River, SA. The pelicans would glide past the boat each evening and the sunset cast beautiful reflections on the water.
