Galah

Another in a series of birds that frequent my backyard, and native to our beautiful country.

This is a painting made primarily with paper and adhesive. The bird has been created entirely from paper elements, excluding small touches on the eyes, head and claws. The background is collage and paint.

The recycled pieces of paper have been cut /torn from various magazines, packaging materials, old books, brochures and junk mail. Hundreds of small pieces mesh together to create form, depth and the finished piece.

3 coats of high gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish. The edges are decorated so it is ready for your wall.
