The Sentinels
The Sentinels was initially inspired by a group of trees perched on a seaside clifftop in New South Wales. I have significantly simplified the scene, choosing to portray all of the trees without foliage in order to suggest a more moody landscape in which the trees seem to be guarding the landscape.
