Lake Mulwala

Lake Mulwala on the NSW/Victorian border offers a captivating view which I have long wanted to paint. The partially submerged dead trees rise from the glassy surface of the man made lake, instilling a a serene and moody atmosphere. On a recent trip to Yarrawonga, I took a number of photographs of the scene and used these as the basis for this painting. I used a minimalist approach in rendering the scene and a minimalist palette.
