Kookie
Kookie : Location : Carramar, Western Australia 6031 For many years, the native Australian plant Xanthorrhoea, what we now know as Grass Trees were more commonly referred to as Blackboys. Same was deemed potentially offensive and most inappropriate, hence the welcome name change. Unique to Australia, this prized landscape tree will make a dramatic statement in any garden. I am lucky since I have well over 400 grass trees thriving on my 5-acre bush block. Also on my bush block, I see and hear many Kookaburras daily, which makes me realise indeed just how lucky we are to live here in Western Australia. Accordingly, here is my abstract depiction of a Kookaburra and a Grass Tree amongst the bush.
