The house was built in 1890 in West Perth and is one of Western Australia's more important historical houses. One hundred years later, it was moved and reconstructed on ECU's Joondalup campus and is now home to the Peter Cowan Writers' Centre. It's a building that I am very familiar with having been a lecturer at Edith Cowan University for over 30 years and I often picnicked by the lake during my lunch hours and before watching a movie at the Pines movie theatre directly behind the building.
